Torchlight's Monday Night Kill Team League - Winter Vacation Series

Killteam Tombcrawl Narrative League 2026

Take command of a Killteam and battle your way through the heart of a Tomb world and defeat the Necron overlords in the hidden Vault. Players will face of against other Killteams as well as Necron NPOs that guard the entrance to the hidden entrance to the Tomb Vault, using the Adversarial Ops mode from Killteam.

The League will tentatively start on February 2

This narrative campaign integrates elements of a Dungeon Crawler into the Killteam format.

The league will be built into six rounds lasting two weeks for each round with a final Boss Battle on the seventh round. During a round players will fight a battle against another player. and also against Necron NPOs that will fight against both players. When NPO are killed they will drop loot in the form of Necro-tech shards. After each battle the shards may be exchanged for additional abilities and ploys that can be used by operatives in future rounds. The NECRO-TECH equipment and NECRO-TECH abilities will only have effects that interact with Necron NPOs - in order to maintain the core balance within Killteams. The more Necrons you defeat, the better your Killteam becomes at killing Necrons representing the experience your team is gaining.

The Necron Tomb is structured in levels and as the teams play games they advance to the lower levels, eventually finding the Vault. As players advance to lower levels the Necron threat will increase with harder Necron NPOs but also gaining access to more powerful NECRO-TECH wargear and NECRO-TECH ploys. Players will want to improve their Killteams ability to combat necrons in order to face off in a final battle against the Necron Bosses in the final Level Vault.

Round 1 will take place on the planet's surface. The teams will gather Intel on the tomb world entrances. necrons are appearing on the planet surface, so the players will need to control objectives to determine the location of the entrance. The winner of each round one match will then know the location of a tomb entrance. This battle will be played on a Killzone Voluks, or Killzone Bheta Decima, representing the planet's surface. In Round two the winners of the previous round will be paired against the losers of the previous round. The players will battle for control of Necron Portals that will allow them to enter the Tomb levels At the end of the match the winner will advance into the tomb first and gain additional Necrotech Shards. The losing player will then be allowed to descend into the Tomb as well but will not gain any bonus Necro-Tech

In round 3 players will be inside the first level of the tomb. All battles beyond this point will be played on Killzone Tomb World. The winners of the previous round will paired against the other winners from the previous round. The battle will be played on a Tomb world board and the Necron NPOs will increase in threat level and will drop more shards than the previous level. Players are searching for clues to the location of the next level and the winner will discover the entrance to the portals for the next level. At the end of Round 3 the location of the entrance to the next level of the dungeon will be revealed The winners of the previous round will be paired against the losers of the previous round. Now that the portal location is discovered the players will battle for control of Portals and decent to the next level. At the end of the match the winner will advance into the next level of the Tomb first and gain additional Necro-Tech Shards. the losing player will then be allowed to descend to the next level as well but will gain no additional Necro-Tech Shards

Rounds 5 and six will be similar to rounds 3 and 4 with difficulty of NPO and loot increasing.

At the end of round 6 the players will have discovered the locations of the final Vaults. There are multiple Vaults with the Prime Vault containing the Tombs Main Boss and the other tombs containing the Tombs secondary bosses. At this point all players will be ranked by total points scored total in the previous six rounds. The top ranked player may choose which Vault to Raid. Then in descending order players may choose which Vault they want to raid. Once a Vault has been selected by two players it cannot be selected again. Selection will be done by posting on Discord. To conquer the final Vault the vault Boss must first be incapacitated. When the final boss is incapacitated they will drop an Legendary NECRO-TECH SHARD. The player who controls the shard at the end of a game round is declared the Conqueror of that vault and the player who conquered the Prime Vault is declared the league winner. If the Prime Vault is not conquered then the Conqueror of the next highest vault is declared the league winner.

Before the first match, players will be required to be knowledgeable of the Tomb World NPO and adversarial ops rules. At the start of the league, players will choose a single Killteam to play through out the league. Players may switch teams one time for no penalty and may transfer NECRO-TECH LOOT from one team to another. Additional team changes will require a NECRO-TECH cost to the player to be determined by the league Arbitrator on a per case basis.
