PRIZING: Tournament organizers will attempt to award no more than one store-credit prize per winner, however exceptions may occur. Prizes may be given out based on performance and random draws. Please note prizing sizes may change depending on attendance.
Charlie Ops not your thing? That's okay! Players can expect performance prizing at for first and second place, in addition to best painted. The rest (And there's quite a few)-- Well, those are going to all the folks trying out Charlie Ops 2026!
SPECIAL PRIZES: Prizing may be distributed to players via random draw or special conditions being met.
BEST PAINTED: Players may submit their teams for judging during the lunch break. Models must be painted by the entrant only. A third party judge(s) may be brought in to determine the winner via their own personal metrics. Painted teams are not required but are encouraged. Commissioned, borrowed, or miniatures you have not painted are ineligible for hobby scoring and prizing (including hobby points for best overall). Please be up front and honest with your submissions.
RULE OF THUMB: Try and have fun! ABOVE ALL ELSE: Please treat each other, staff members, and the tournament organizers with respect. While this is a competitive format with prizing, we are also here for a good time (and hopefully good stories).
JUDGING: While many rulings can be found online and within books, there will be an active judge at this event. While the judge(s) will not be looking to intervene, they may step in to adjudicate disputes and help speed up rulings. Calling over a judge to help with a ruling is encouraged, and will not be held against anyone. Judges' rulings are final and may not be appealed.
All TO judge rulings are final. While they might differ from your interpretation of a GW rule or WTC FAQ, the TO judge has the final say period. A snap ruling will be one that is on the spot, used to save time. The judge will rule on the spot with the answer that is most fitting and binding for that specific instance. Please note when asking a judge for a ruling, please ensure all books and FAQs are ready. As well during a ruling, please be respectful of the judge and other players. Any outburst or rude behavior while the judge is making a ruling or question may result in a possible point reduction, being asked to leave for the rest of that game, or even the event itself. Dice are expected to be clear and legible. Dice trays are welcome for use. Please clarify with your opponent prior to the game what you each consider 'cocked' dice.
CLOCK POLICY: While not required, players are strongly encouraged to bring their own chess clocks should they choose to play with them. The use of chess clocks should be used to ensure equitable time between both players at the start of the round.
MAPS: May include but are not limited to: Volkus, Tomb World, Gallowdark, Octarius, Descent
MISSION SELECTION: Missions may be drafted by the Tournament Organizer(s) out of the most recent edition of Approved Ops 2025 or Charlie Ops 2026.
TIMING: Once the round time is over, a hard "Dice Down" policy will be enforced. At "Dice Down" both players immediately cease all actions, proceed to the end of turning point four and score appropriately.
PODIUM PLACING: Prizing for 1st, 2nd, then potentially Best Painted
CONVERSION: ALL PROXY, COUNTS-AS, AND CONVERTED MODELS MUST BE APPROVED BY A TOURNAMENT ORGANIZER OR THEY MAY BE DEEMED INELIGIBLE FOR USE. Additionally, all models must be clearly identifiable as their respective characters. Proxies, conversions, and counts-as models are admissible, provided they are similar in size and shape to the original. All models MUST be on bases of their intended base size. Altered models and/or proxies may only incur disadvantages and may never be modeled for advantage.
PRINT AND PLAY POLICY: We allow the use of paper printed materials as long as they are accurate to the current state of the game.
PURPOSEFUL PLAY/PLAYING BY INTENT: Playing WITH your opponent is key to good sportsmanship and good gameplay, confirming with your opponents details of what is going on (e.g. what your cover line is) is essential. If at any point there is a disagreement about the board state (rules, distances etc), players are strongly encouraged to call a judge in to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
